A Watervliet man is charged with murdering the brother-in-law of a Newtown shooting victim. He is also accused of stabbing himself to cover up his crime.

Police say 30-year-old Brandon Burritt was arrested tonight.

He is accused of stabbing and killing his roommate, David Hochsprung, during an argument at their Fifth Avenue home on April 21st.

Hochsprung was the brother-in-law of Dawn Hochsprung, the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Police tell us Burritt stabbed himself in the stomach and neck before calling 911, to make himself look like the victim.
