Motorcycle crash leads to homicide charges for Hudson Valley Man

LLOYD, N.Y. (AP) - A Hudson Valley man is facing homicide charges after a crash that killed a motorcyclist.

Town of Lloyd police tell local media that 26-year-old Francisco Vasquez-Cruz, of Poughkeepsie, was driving with his headlights off when he collided with the motorcycle at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

The motorcyclist, 41-year-old Fernando Diaz Jr. of Wallkill, died at a hospital.

Vasquez-Cruz was arraigned on charges of vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated and driving without a license. He was jailed on $50,000 bail. Court officials weren't available to say if he has a lawyer.

Lloyd is in Ulster County, 65 miles south of Albany.
