TROY - RPI in Troy is getting nearly $2 million to upgrade its super computers.

The money is from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.

It will be used to improve the energy efficiency of the computers, saving the university more than $1 million dollars a year.

The president of RPI says the IBM computers are being used to solve problems such as national security, climate change and the allocation of scarce resources.
