SARATOGA COUNTY - It appears the Saratoga County Animal Shelter could soon have a new director.

A county official tells NewsChannel 13 Deborah Oligny of Ballston Spa has been recommended for the job.

The selection process has not been without controversy.

Back in March, the board of supervisors rejected the appointment of Christina Abele.

The 22-year-old is the daughter of a politically connected developer.

Opponents said she lacked experience to handle the job.

If the board approves Oligny's appointment, she would take over next month.
