East Greenbush police look for new leads in ’94 murder

EAST GREENBUSH - Police in East Greenbush are hoping to generate new leads in a 19-year-old unsolved murder.

Violet Filkins, 81, was found dead in her home on Coventry Lane on Aug. 19, 1994.

No one has ever been charged with her death.

Police say they continue to test DNA found at the scene and hope to find a match.

A $25,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to an arrest.
