ALBANY - A woman is now facing charges after police say she plowed through a crowd of people.

Shanikqua Thomas, 27, is charged with assault.

Police say she was a passenger in an SUV when the driver got into a fight with someone on Elk Street last night.

When the driver got out to argue, police say Thomas hopped in the driver's seat, threw the vehicle into reverse and backed up into six women.

None suffered life-threatening injuries, though three remain hospitalized.
