SCHENECTADY - An apparent argument over mistaken identity ends with a man stabbed several times.

The stabbing happened Friday morning at the intersection of Orchard Street and 3rd Avenue.

The victim told police he went up to a woman thinking that she was a friend.

The woman wasn’t the person he was looking for and police say they started arguing.

Police say the woman then stabbed the man several times in the arm and torso with a knife.

The victim is in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.

No arrests have been made.
