CSX is appealing a judge's decision to keep a railroad crossing in Fonda open to pedestrian traffic.

A judge ordered the crossing at Center Street closed to rail traffic back in August.

The crossing was the scene of a deadly accident back in 2007.

It's the centralized crossing for residents and visitors heading to main street businesses.

Village officials and residents say the order goes too far and are asking to be included in the appeals process.
