Slight decrease for people on SNAP benefits

NewsChannel 13 has new information for people who receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Starting November 1st, each of you will be getting $11 less each month.

That is because the American Recovery and Reinvestment act is expiring.

Congress passed the act in 2009 to provide people on SNAP with a temporary boost to offset the economic downturn.
