Three detained after car crash turned foot chase

ALBANY - Three people have been detained in connection with car crash turned foot chase.

This began around 2:30 Monday afternoon, after a car crashed into a building at Lark and Chestnut Street.

An officer noticed the car speeding, but by the time he was able to respond the car had already crashed.

Two people in the car took off on Chestnut Street. The other one took off on Lark Street.

Police say that man was holding a gun under his jacket.

Witnesses say he ran through a pizza shop and coffee shop before being caught by police a short time later.

The other two suspects were caught later in the afternoon.

They are being questioned by police.

Roads in the area have reopened.
