ALBANY - Election Day is just three weeks away.

Voters in New York will decide whether to legalize Las Vegas-style casinos.

The debate, if you can call it that, has been pretty low-key.

On Tuesday, opponents of casino gambling brought a sledgehammer and a slot machine to the State Capitol to make their case.

They invoked the memory of New York City Mayor Fiorella Laguardia, who smashed slot machines in 1934, and dumped them in the ocean.
