With the temperatures dipping into the single digits this week, Code Blue in now in effect in both Albany and Saratoga Springs.
That means anyone who doesn't have an indoor place to sleep can go to a shelter.
In Saratoga, it's at the Church of Saint Peter on Broadway, across the street from the Holiday Inn.
In Albany, the Capital City Rescue Mission will bring people in - no questions asked.
“This year the cold weather has come early. it came in December and it's still even early, you know just turning into January and that's OK because we're ready. We'll probably have around 12 people a night additional to the 200 we are already helping and so it will climb up to about 230 people for our total census,” says Perry Jones of the Capital City Rescue Mission.
Jones says the goal of "Code Blue" is to make sure no one gets frostbite or freezes to death.
