Smokers and former smokers over the age of 55 are being told they should be screened for lung cancer every year.
The recommendations come from the Preventative Services Task Force.
They suggest these folks get a low dose CT scan of the lungs to search for lung cancer.
The recommendation is for adults 55 to 80 who smoke currently or who have quit within the past 15 years. It's something to discuss with your doctor.
