The pace of fires continues during this cold weather.

In Schenectady, the Red Cross says it’s caring for seven people after a fire in their home on Hamilton Street Tuesday night.

Firefighters battled the bitter cold and brutal wind at a fire in Schuylerville too.

Flames destroyed the home on Pearl Street.

Two adults and two children made it out safely.

Investigators are looking into the cause.

A fire broke out at the Serta mattress factory in Coxsackie Tuesday evening.

A heater unit caught fire and spread to foam padding used to make the mattresses.

No one was injured.

About 40 mattresses were burned before fire crews knocked the flames down.

Firefighters say the ice made things difficult and a hose began to freeze up.

And fire has damaged an automotive shop in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

The Deputy Chief reports a car in the garage has been destroyed and there's some interior damage to "John's Automotive" at 165 Wahconah Street.

No one was injured.
