Eighteen Capital Region residents are under arrest, accused of scamming the state out of $150,000 in unemployment benefits.
State Police and the Department of Labor say their separate investigations began weeks ago.
Officials say the suspects were receiving unemployment checks while they were working.
Troopers say the amount collect fraudulently ranged from $3,000 to $22,000.
Fourteen of the defendants are from Albany, two are from Cohoes, one is from Troy and one is from Watervliet.
