TROY -- After two days of jury selection, jurors listened to opening statements in the Brendan Hoffman case. Hoffman was 20 years old in June 2012 when, prosecutors say, he got behind the wheel high and drunk and high and crashed his Dodge Neon, killing 24 year old Christopher Baker. The accident is said to have occurred less than a mile from Baker's Cranston Hill Road home in Stephentown, where the two were allegedly drinking beer and smoking pot with friends. Additionally, Hoffman is accused of leaving the scene of the accident and Baker's body was located in the woods, hours later.
