The New York State Senate approved a proposal to bar registered sex offenders from working as bus drivers.
Under the bill sponsored by Senator Carl Marcellino, the Department of Motor Vehicles would no longer be able to issue or renew a commercial driver's license to operate a bus, to anyone who is a registered sex offender.
The bill has been sent to the Assembly.
