You've heard the expression, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, what about a tomato pill a day?
Researchers say it could help people with heart disease.
In a new study, scientists looked at lycopene supplements.
Lycopene is an antioxidant found in tomatoes and other fruits.
They found that lycopene improved blood vessel function by almost 53 percent.
While it could be helpful when taken with other medications, experts say a tomato pill would not be an adequate replacement for other heart disease treatments.
