GLOVERSVILLE- Two Gloversville residents are facing charges after police say they witnessed a suicide attempt in March and did nothing to help.

Gloversville Police say 43-year-old Raina Bailey and 45-year-old Kenney Balfour found a 17-year-old male overdosing on prescription meds and didn’t try to help or call 911.

Police say, instead, they allowed the victim to lay in bed overnight, even though he was vomiting and became non-responsive.

The next day, a friend found the teen still unresponsive and told the couple to call 911.

He was taken to hospital and found to be in critical condition.

He was treated and has since recovered.

Police arrested Bailey and Balfour on Monday and charged the two with reckless endangerment.

The two were sent to Fulton County Jail on bail.

During a later court appearance, the judge reduced Balfour’s bail accepting an argument that the 17-year-old “was not his kid.”
