SARATOGA SPRINGS - It galloped into our hearts 50 years ago at the New York World’s Fair.
Now Saratoga's Auto Museum is among those celebrating the Ford Mustang.
A special exhibition has been put together for the anniversary with cars from each generation.
It has gone from the early classic, to sporty, almost to a compact and now back to the classic look.
When the first advertisements came out, Ford claimed the Mustang would appeal to everybody.
They called it an economy car with style and the option for high performance.
“We had Edsel Ford here on Friday night as part of our opening celebrations and he said when he's going around the country and talking to Mustang people he's always impressed by the enthusiasm that the people have for the car after all these years,” says Dennis Kipp, a museum tour guide.
The Mustang is also member of an exclusive group of vehicles in continuous production for 5 decades. The exhibit at the Saratoga Auto Museum runs through early November.
