BALLSTON SPA - You could call it an “egg-cellent” example of science in action in Ballston Spa on Tuesday.

About 100 fourth graders at Gordon Creek Elementary wrapped up a yearlong study in physics with an egg drop experiment.

The students worked in 23 teams to build different structures to protect their eggs from getting broken.

The test came when they dropped their creations from a fire department ladder truck, 85 feet up in the air.

Seventeen teams got their egg to survive the fall.
