A Knox man will spend up to seven years behind bars after setting fire to his home and keeping firefighters from putting it out.
Kenneth Fortuin was sentenced in Albany County Court on arson and obstruction charges.
The 49-year-old man admitted to the crime that took place in early February on Saddlemire Road.
Fortuin blocked his driveway with large trees after intentionally burning his home and other buildings on his property.
Then he threatened to shoot the responders with a loaded handgun if they tried to put out the flames.
Fortuin will spend between two and a third and seven years in state prison.
