SARATOGA SPRINGS - A New York State Corrections Officer has been convicted on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

It stems back to an incident in Saratoga Springs last August.

John Bateman, 55, got into a physical fight with someone on Caroline Street.

Police say Bateman had visited several bars and was drunk at the time, and he fought with officers as they tried to arrest him. Four officers had to carry him to the police car.

Bateman faces up to a year in jail when he is sentenced in September.
