State Police are investigating a fatal crash on the Thruway. Police say five vehicles, including a tractor trailer, were involved in the accident that happened just before midnight on Friday.

State Police say 24-year-old Tyler Pascuzzi was driving a 2004 Volkswage GLI westbound between Exits 24 and 25 when he hit a Honda Civic driven by 29-year-old Brian Miller.

Miller lost control, struck the center guide rail and came to a rest. Pascuzzi began to spin and crashed into an Old Dominion Freight Lines tractor trailer. Two of Pascuzzi's passengers, Cody Veverka (23 of S. Cairo) and Alicia Tamboia (24, of Wingdale) were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Pascuzzi and Miller were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, and a fourth sedan who hit part of the wreckage, were not injured.
