TROY – Troy Police are searching for an SUV wanted in connection with Wednesday morning’s double homicide in the city.

The murders happened at 709 First Ave. in Lansingburgh. Police say the vehicle was taken from the home and has included a license plate number as well.

Allen Lockrow, 51, and Maria Lockrow, 59, were both beaten to death. Allen was found dead in the home and Maria died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Neighbors told investigators two men were seen leaving the property, appearing to carry a baseball bat or sledgehammer.

"We don't think that it's some kind of a random act, that there was a roving gang of people that decided that, 'Hey, we're going to pick on 709 First Avenue.' I mean it's not that," said Police Capt. Dan DeWolf.

Police say the blue 2013 Ford Escape was missing from the home. If anyone spots the car they are asked to call police right away.

Officials urge the public not to approach the vehicle.
