People in North Blenheim took time out of their days Thursday to mark the anniversary of Irene.

The event was called "Recovery to Renewal."

The flooding three years ago swept away the Blenheim Bridge, a landmark and tourist attraction.

The Methodist Church and the Community Center were also damaged.

Both have been repaired and are once again serving the needs of the community.

“We have gone from being flood victims to flood survivors and now to architects of our future,” says Republican Assemblyman Pete Lopez of Schoharie.

Residents of North Blenheim say the federal emergency management agency came through for them.

They are thankful for all the volunteers from as far away as Ohio and Pennsylvania who came to help.
