Kelly Lynch anchors NewsChannel 13's Midday news.
Kelly grew up in the Capital Region, graduating from Shenendehowa High School and Siena College.
She began her career in the production department at WNYT, and quickly moved to the news department as the associate producer of NewsChannel 13's morning newscast. Kelly made her on-air debut in the "Operations Center," working closely with local police and fire agencies as well as filling in on the 10 p.m. news on WMHQ.
She departed WNYT in 1996 to become the noon and 6 p.m. anchor/health reporter at the NBC affiliate in Utica, NY. There, she won several awards, including Outstanding Media Person of the Year from the American Cancer Society and a New York State Associate Press Special Mention for Best Local Newscast. She also contributed reports to MSNBC's "Today In America" feature.
Kelly returned home to WNYT in December 1998 to become the Weekend Anchor at 6 and 11 p.m. She moved to the Noon News in September 2004. She also hosts “Forum 13,” a half-hour program that airs Sunday mornings.
Kelly lives in Colonie with her husband, WNYT Sports Director Rodger Wyland and their two children.
