Jason Gough joined the NewsChannel First Warning Weather Team in December 2004. Jason is no stranger to upstate New York and its weather. He grew up in Albany, but he hadn't lived in the Capital Region since graduating from Albany High School in 1988. Jason's first job in television was behind the scenes as a forecaster and weather producer at WJLA, the ABC affiliate in Washington, DC. He earned a degree in meteorology (with minors in physics and mathematics) from Maryland during that time. 3 months after he graduated, he was headed to the Lone Star State.
During his tenure in Corpus Christi as the weekday morning and noon meteorologist at NBC affiliate KRIS, Jason visited nearly 100 schools and businesses to talk about weather, especially hurricanes. He also emceed several charity events and wrote & published a cookbook to benefit a program within the local food bank called the Kids Cafe. Jason also flew in a Navy F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet out of Naval Air Station Kingsville as part of a Blue Angels demonstration.

In addition to his forecasting work at NewsChannel 13, he visits many schools all across the area and emcees several charitable events. He serves on the American Cancer Society's Golf Crusade committee, and co-emcees the Making Strides Walk held in October to benefit breast cancer awareness and research. If you or someone you know would like Jason to speak to your class, group or event, just send him an email.
