Andrew Catalon
 

Andrew Catalon is the weekend sports anchor at NewsChannel 13. He joined WNYT in November 2003.

Andrew hosts "Big Board Sports with Andrew Catalon," the Capital Region's only Sunday night sports wrap-up show. When he is not on the anchor desk, you can usually find Andrew at a local high school. Each and every Tuesday, Andrew honors the top student-athletes in the area for the "Dunkin' Donuts High School Player of the Week" segment.

One of the most rewarding experiences of Andrew's life occurred during the summer of 2008. Andrew was a part of NBC's Beijing Olympics coverage. He did play-by-play for Team Handball and Fencing on NBC, MSNBC, and USA. He also did play-by-play on NBC in December of 2007, hosting a curling event from Rockefeller Center.

Andrew is the New York Giants Training Camp beat reporter for WFAN in New York City, and also freelances at SNY and the Animal Planet. In addition, you can catch him doing play-by-play for local college and high school sports on Time Warner Cable. Andrew began his career at WVNY in Burlington, Vermont, and won an Associated Press Award for his play-by-play coverage of a University of Vermont women's basketball game.

Andrew graduated from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, and was the assistant sports director at WAER. He currently resides in Rensselaer, and is a native of Short Hills, New Jersey.
