Andrew Catalon is a sports anchor/reporter at NewsChannel 13. He joined WNYT in November 2003.
Andrew hosts "Big Board Sports with Andrew Catalon," the Capital Region's only Sunday night sports wrap-up show. In addition, Andrew honors the top student-athletes in the area in his "Player of the Week" segment.
Andrew also does play-by-play announcing and he's joining NBC in London for his third Olympics assignment. Andrew is calling tennis at Wimbledon; in 2010 he did curling from Vancouver, and in 2008 he did play-by-play for team handball and fencing.
Andrew called an NFL regular season game on CBS with Steve Tasker in October 2011. He also did the Cleveland Browns 2011 preseason games on WKYC in Cleveland and did play-by-play for a 2009 Giants preseason game on WNBC in New York City.
Andrew worked for CBS at the 2011 & 2012 Masters, doing play-by-play for the featured group channel. He also worked the 2010 & 2011 US Open Tennis Tournaments for CBS, calling the action in 3D.
Andrew fills-in on the NBC Sports Desk, anchoring the weekend updates, and you can also see him on the NBC Sports Network, SNY, and Big Ten Network.
After graduating from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, Andrew began his career at WVNY in Burlington, Vermont. A native of Short Hills, New Jersey, Andrew currently resides in East Greenbush with his wife, WNYT News Anchor Jessica Layton.
