 Jay Bobbin is NewsChannel 13's entertainment critic, appearing several times a week on NewsChannel 13 Live at Noon and in the "Scoop" segment of NewsChannel 13 Live at Five, and also in the "Scoop" segment Saturday and Sunday mornings on NewsChannel 13 Weekend Today. He also contributes special reports when warranted, as with such major award ceremonies as the Oscars and the Emmys.
He joined the station in the fall 1993, having served as the entertainment reviewer for WGY Radio since August 1988. He continues in that role, and he is also the features editor for Tribune Media Services, which provides television listings to newspapers across the country. Jay's stories on TV programs and personalities are syndicated to hundreds of newspapers (and, in many cases, also used on their Web sites) each week.
Jay is a graduate of Glens Falls High School and Ithaca College. Among the other broadcasting outlets he has worked for are WMHT-TV in Schenectady and WWSC, WBZA and WCKM radio in Glens Falls. An avid taper of television shows and movies with his multiple VCRs, he has a special fondness for James Bond adventures, disaster epics and popcorn with real butter.
