Pataki asked to run for U.S. Senate
ALBANY - Former New York Gov. George Pataki is said to be mulling over requests by Republicans to run against Democratic U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
Pataki is the last Republican to win statewide office in New York. The three-term governor decided not to run again in 2006.
The Associated Press reports Pataki has been approached about running for the U.S. Senate seat but he has not given an answer.
