After a terrifying 15 minutes, in which Hernandez-Perez dragged her into his minivan and forced her to disrobe, the woman managed to escape and tell police. NewsChannel 13 has learned that police found the woman's New York driver's license on Hernandez-Perez when they arrested him three days later and the woman's apartment keys were in his van. Neither police nor the district attorney would comment on what they found on Hernandez-Perez or in his van. But Saratoga County District Attorney Jim Murphy said, "Based on what police found, authorities believe Hernandez-Perez indented to possible re-contact with his victim." A law enforcement source also said police found the victim's clothes and purse at the suspect's home in Corinth. Hernandez-Perez also had a forged Social Security card and a counterfeit green card allowing him to find work at a local restaurant. Police are now digging to see if Hernandez-Perez has a criminal past -- something that wouldn't come as a surprise to Saratoga Springs Police Chief Ed Moore. "I would not be surprised at all, in my 35 years experience, if we link him to other crimes. I'm not saying he's committed others, but he was cool, calm and collected when he was first apprehended," Moore said. "It is striking to me that this particular individual has no record, yet starts out with a kidnapping 2 charge. It's unusual," Murphy added. Hernandez-Perez is being held in the Saratoga County Jail.
