South Glens Falls man revealed as $1 million lottery winner

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Bryan Ireland, a 26-year-old South Glens Falls man and supervisor for Direct TV, is the winner of the $1 million lottery ticket purchased Oct. 17 at the Stewart's Shops store on Glen Street in Glens Falls.

Ireland was introduced by New York Lottery officials Thursday morning at a press event at the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway.

"Winning this money is really a huge relief," he said. "I have some bills and college loans I now can pay off."

He said he was planning to use some of the money for a long-discussed family cruise.

Ireland will receive 20 annual installments of $50,000. After taxes, the net income from his win will be $33,015 each year through 2028.

The ticket Ireland purchased was a Smooth 7s scratch-off ticket.
