Accused drunk driver awaits arraignment from the hospital

EAST GREENBUSH - An alleged drunk driver in East Greenbush awaits arraignment-- as soon as he is released from the hospital.

40-year-old Oscar Lewis is accused of driving drunk late Sunday afternoon. He was at the intersection of Route 51 and Miller Road in East Greenbush when his car crossed into the oncoming lane and hit another car head on.

48-year-old Stephen Smith was driving the other vehicle. Smith was airlifted from the accident scene. A 14-year-old, whose name has not been released, has also been hospitalized. No word yet on the condition of either victim.

Police say Lewis will be arraigned on charged of Aggravated Vehicular Assault and DWI. More Charges are pending.
