Rain didn't stop charity run

EAST GREENBUSH -- They ran in the rain Saturday morning in East Greenbush for the "Run for Life" event at Columbia High School.

The 2.7 mile race served as a fundraiser for the Barbara Lehmann Scholarship Fund. She was a longtime secretary at Goff Middle School who died recently after a battle with breast cancer.

More than 200 runners and walkers braved the wet weather for a good cause.

"I think it's great," said principal John Sawchuk. "We were kind of thinking about canceling this morning, but the kids wanted to go forward with it. It's just a great event. It shows the support we get from our community."
