Son questioned about father's death

State troopers guarded the Staleyville Road home Tuesday. It's a rural street. The houses are far apart and there's a farm right across the road.

Police say George King was found dead around 6 p.m. Monday inside the house where he lived alone.

Police wanted to question Gerry Alan King. They suspected he went to Connecticut Monday night with his girlfriend. He was found there around noon Tuesday.

Neighbors say the father and son had a strained relationship. People who live next door say they felt uncomfortable when Gerry Alan King was around.

Police say charges against Gerry Alan King are pending.
