Albany convention center design unveiled
ALBANY - The proposed Albany convention center has a new look and a new price tag.
The design for the 300,000-square-foot facility was unveiled Friday morning, sporting a brick and glass curved façade.
The cost is now estimated at $220 million, which if approved would be paid for with state funds and bonds. That's $20 million less than some earlier projections.
The center would be located in the heart of downtown, near Broadway and Hudson Avenue. That's within walking distance of the Times Union Center.
