Two men killed in early morning car crash

ROOT -- A fiery two-car, head-on crash along highway 162 claimed the lives of two men from Sprakers. Montgomery County Sheriff Michael Amato reports that the collision occured near the intersection of Rappa Rd. around 5:35AM Saturday.

Marc Priddle, 23, of Flat Creek Road in Sprakers, was driving his 2001 Jeep southbound. Vincent Chase, 21, of Brand Road in Sprakers, was driving his 1997 Isuzu pick-up truck northbound. Authorities say that based upon the initial investigation, one vehicle crossed the center line, causing the crash, but it has not been determined which one. Priddle's Jeep went off the road and caught fire, authorities report.

An autopsy and toxicology report is pending as well as results from the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Team. Also assisting in this accident was Rural Grove VFD, Canajoharie VFD, Mid-County Ambulance and Montgomery County Fire Coordinator Gary Nestle.
