Queensbury man charged with sex assault
QUEENSBURY - Lewis Smith Sr., 64, is charged with felony sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office says it received a complaint in October from the mother of the girl. She reported her daughter may have been sexually abused by Smith at his home on Massachusetts Avenue in Queensbury. Smith and the girl knew each other.
Smith was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court on Wednesday, Nov. 18 and sent to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond. He is due back in Queensbury Court on Nov. 23.
Investigator Doug David and Investigator Maurice Aldrich led the case along with assistance of Child Protective Agencies in Warren and Washington Counties.
