COEYMANS--The school board president in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk School District, John Vadney, has been arrested and charged with aggravated harassment.
The arrest occurred on May 26 and stems from phone calls he is alleged to have made to the father of the former vice president of the RCS School Board, Joseph Tracey. Josephine O'Conner is Tracey's daughter.
That same day, Tracey was arrested and charged with the same crime, also as a result of a telephone conversation, according to authorities.
The Albany County District Attorney's office confirms the men were each other's alleged victims. Both were issued appearance tickets and will appear in the respective town courts later this month.
In a written statement, RCS Superintendent Elisabeth Smith calls the case "disturbing if true" and "unsettling for the RCS community." Smith goes on to say that the district won't take action until the legal process is completed.
