A daring jump into the Poestenkill Gorge waters, too tempting, these swimmer say, to pass up on a sweltering day. They know they're breaking the rules to swim here, but say they can't help it.
The City of Troy posted new "No Trespassing" signs three weeks ago, reasserting that the area is off limits to swimmers. It came after a 21 year old man fell 45 feet from a slippery cliff, and had to be rescued from the gorge.
City pools aren't open until June 29th. But in response to this week's heat, the Mayor ordered spray parks to open as well as some hydrants.
But swimmers at the Gorge say, this is their best option to stay cool.
