TROY - Buying alcohol on holidays in Rensselaer County could get a bit easier.

The county is considering expanding hours for liquor stores on days like New Years Day, July Fourth, and Labor Day.

Under current county law, liquor stores can only stay open two hours, but businesses are required to pay employees for four hours.

The county is holding a public hearing on the issue Friday night. It will be at the County Office Building in Troy at 6 p.m.
