QUEENSBURY - A Queensbury woman was accused of failing to accurately report her total household income in order to receive medical assistance benefits.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said 43-year-old Cheryl Lynn Bruce is charged with health care fraud and offering a false instrument after an investigation into a report from the Warren County Department of Social Services.

The sheriff’s office said Bruce failed to accurately report her total household income when re-certifying to maintain eligibility to receive medical assistance benefits.

The report said that Bruce filed a recertification form, as required to maintain ongoing eligibility to receive medical assistance benefits and failed to accurately report her total household income.

As a result, sheriffs said she received more than $400 in medical assistance benefits that she otherwise was not entitled to.

The investigation is ongoing.
