Police: motorcyclist dies in Schodack

SCHODACK – Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that happened in the Town of Schodack Sunday evening.
The Schodack Police Department said that the accident took place at 6:30 p.m. on Rice Road. They said the motorcycle left the road southbound and hit a tree.
When police arrived at the scene they found the driver off on the side of the road. East Schodack Fire and EMS tried to help the driver, but to no avail. The Rensselaer County medical Examiner also responded to the scene.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the accident and the identity of the driver will not be released until their next of kin are notified. The investigation continues.
