TROY - Opening statements have begun in murder trial of Scott Chaplin, accused in 1994 killing of Rosemary Crosier in Troy.
Prosecutor said Wednesday morning that Chaplin's DNA was found on paper towel roll used to clean up blood at crime scene, and on paper towel on door knob.
The defense attorney said Scott Chaplin had an affair with Crosier and was with her on night of her murder but had nothing to do with homicide.
The man prosecutors say was Chaplin's accomplice, George Mott, was tried for the same crime earlier this year and found not guilty.
