GLENVILLE - State Police Princetown have identified the body recovered from the Mohawk River in the Town of Glenville earlier this morning as Richard Bennet, a 41 year old male from Galway.

Investigation has determined that Bennet is the driver who fled from a traffic stop in the area of State Route 5 and State Route 103 Thursday night.

An autopsy performed at Ellis Hospital determined the cause of death to be asphyxia due to drowning.

The death was ruled accidental, and toxicology results are pending.
