A bug that the state DEC has been warning people about for more than a year turns up at a New York State owned campground for the first time.

The Emerald Ash Borer was discovered at the Catskill Forest Preserve in Ulster County. The insect bores into ash trees and kills them.

To prevent the spread, the state urges campers not to bring untreated firewood to campgrounds.
