A 14-year-old pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by a car

ALBANY - A 14 year old girl is fighting for her life, after she was hit by a car while crossing a busy road in Columbia County.
It happened last night on Fairview Avenue in Greenport.
Police say the girl ran into the side of a car.
She seriously injured her head and was flown to Albany Medical Center where she is in critical condition.
No charges are expected.
