TROY - Police credit a K-9 unit with helping make a gun arrest on Monday evening.
It happened in the area of 334 Fourth Street, around 6 p.m.
According to police, two armed men were fighting.
When police arrived, they say 31-year-old Quincy Smaltz of The Bronx tried to escape to an alley off Ida Street.
The K-9 named “Aron” bit him on the leg, causing him to drop the gun.
Smaltz is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning.
The second man has not been caught.
