MENANDS - The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is looking for witnesses who may have seen three puppies being abused on railroad tracks in Albany.
The pit bull mix puppies, which are only few weeks old, had suffered severe injuries.
"There’s no way this was an accident,” said Mohawk Hudson Humane Society Brad Shear. "All three puppies have similar injuries to their left rear paws. One puppy’s paw has been completely severed. That just doesn’t happen by accident."
A railroad worker found the puppies Saturday on a section of the tracks near North Pearl Street and Broadway.
The worker brought them to the Humane Society.
The puppies were treated for dehydration and infections caused by their wounds. The smallest of them later died.
If you have any information about the person who harmed the puppies, call the Humane Society at 518-434-8128.
